BALTIMORE – With one week left until the Sept. 13 Democratic Primary, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s latest campaign commercial shows voters why she should remain Baltimore’s Mayor. The ad, entitled “Best Choice”, was released this morning and will air on broadcast and cable television.
The 30-second commercial talks about Rawlings-Blake’s commitment to the city and record of accomplishments. The ad comes on the heels of escalated attacks from the Mayor’s opponents who have become more negative over the last several weeks.
Below is a transcript of the ad:
Voiceover: “Every day the choice becomes more clear; Stephanie Rawlings-Blake for Mayor. The only
candidate with a real plan to cut property taxes. The only candidate who has balanced a budget;
who will not cut police, will not cut schools, not cut job programs. Every day more people endorse
the Mayor as the best choice to keep moving Baltimore forward. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake: tough,
no-nonsense, a proven leader who cares about our kids and the future of our city. A Mayor we can
count on.”
Sworn into office 18 months ago, Rawlings-Blake has successfully managed the city during a historic budget crisis without laying off police officers, cutting the city’s obligation to public schools, or raising the property tax. Her administration introduced initiatives to strengthen neighborhoods, including the nationally recognized Vacants to Value program.
The Mayor’s no-nonsense approach to government and her commitment to building a better Baltimore has earned her campaign multiple endorsements and support from government officials, business and civic leaders, and everyday citizens.
In contrast to the Mayor, her opponents have made reckless economic proposals that would destroy the City’s budget if implemented, resulting in up to $400 million in cuts, including devastating reductions to Baltimore’s schools, youth centers, job programs and public safety.
